Women in AI Heroes

We’re excited to celebrate the nomination of our Programme Administrator, Alessandra Fassio, as a Women in AI Hero! #WAIROE

Women in AI. Alessandra Fassio. I believe that ethical literacy is a universal skill. My passion is providing the tools and techniques to help people unlock this and see the value of ethics across a project's lifecycle.

Alessandra has a particular interest in the intersection between data, ethics and the law. She is also passionate about helping to build and design the tools that support organic ethical decision making in professional environments. A large part of her role at the Data for Children Collaborative has been to assist the design, development and deployment of an ethical assessment to be used across the Collaborative's project portfolio. The key for this was to capture the unique challenges that arise when working on data science projects for children.

She now works closely with project teams to guide them through the ethical assessment, providing support and insight into how to deliver a project in the right way and for the right reasons. The assessment has been met with great enthusiasm by those within the Collaborative as well as by external audiences.
