Nutrition
Proper nutrition is a powerful good: children who are well nourished are more likely to be healthy, productive and able to learn. Good nutrition benefits families, their communities and the world as a whole.
Nutrition Projects
The SEASNUT project is examining if it is possible to use secondary data (other existing) to account for fluctuations in wasting measurement where it has not been previously able to be accounted for.
We want to understand what children are eating and what influences these decisions. We will do this initially in the context of Scotland, but with scalability to have a global impact.
Nutrition Outputs
Final Report: This project explored the seasonal effects of wasting scores with the goal of establishing if it is possible to answer the following question: “what would the wasting score have been had it been measured in a different month of that year?”
A paper outlining a secondary analysis of data from the Growing Up in Scotland (GUS) cohort for predictors of obesity at the age of 12, present at school entry (age 5-6).
A thought piece based on the analyses of the “Growing up in Scotland (GUS)” child cohort.
