Event: 'Resolutions' webinar, 22nd Feb 2023

As the Data for Children Collaborative transitions from our initial start up phase, we gathered our partners, colleagues and stakeholders for an overview of what we have achieved and our plans for the future. Our network spans across the third sector, academia, public sector, private sector, funders, strategic partners and data partners - and we welcomed all of these key contributors to this discussion.

At this Resolutions Webinar, we talked about new beginnings and the lessons learnt in our pursuit to collaborate with data, with expertise and with methods to improve children around the globe's futures.

Agenda:

Scene setting – Positioning our transition from a partnership model to a specialist unit within the Edinburgh Futures Institute at the University of Edinburgh, continuing to deliver projects with UNICEF and Scottish Government while allowing for broader collaborations.

Our Climate Change Project – an example of truly transdisciplinary global work with visible real-world impact for children.

Our Population Project - an example of exploratory research with strong end-user collaboration to continously improve the outputs of machine learning models across countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

Our Project with The Promise – an example of a Scottish project creating a data map, but thinking differently about data by focusing on children first.

Q&A and discussion throughout.
